Ukrainian students visited Switzerland

At the end of October 2012 an educational excursion of Ukrainian students to the Swiss Confederation was held.

The organizers were Ukrainian public organization «Ukrainian Association of International Economists» and the «Risk Reduction Foundation», together with the initiative group of the Institute of International Relations of Kyiv National University of Taras Shevchenko.

Students from different educational institutions of Ukraine visited the main offices of major international organizations: the United Nations (UN), the World Trade Organization (WTO), World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), International Management Institute in Lausanne (IMD).

During the visit, a number of meetings with the organizations and their divisions were held. Topical issues of environmental protection in Europe were discussed with the president of the international organization «Green Cross» (GCI) Alexander Likhotal. Deputy Executive Secretary of the UN Economic Commission Andrei Vasilyev told about problems, achievements and structure of interaction of UNECE.

At a meeting with the head of the «Risk Reduction Foundation» Vladimir Kosterin, the experience of Switzerland on the introduction of innovative technologies and the possibilities of modernization of Ukraine were discussed.

Ukrainian delegation visited Basel, Berne, Vaduz, Geneva, Lausanne, St. Gallen, Zurich. Visit to Switzerland and acquaintance with the work of leading international organizations will contribute to successful professional activity of students and promotion of European standards in Ukraine.
